We live in really crazy times in terms of new technologies and social media options that are available. For someone like me with a profile who is creative and entrepreneurial, I can really help and inspire people with content I create using these platforms.
It is amazing that we have these options available that allow me to connect with people I do not know. I have not met most of the people who listen to my podcasts and read my articles, but I am able to reach these audiences because of the technology available today. People I do not know actually kind of know me because, through my content, you can get into my mind and listen to my thoughts.
Nowadays, there are just so many platforms for people to share knowledge, their hearts, and everything else. So how do you choose which platform is best for you? It really just depends on what you want to do. If you do not like podcasting, you can always make a video or write a blog post. Embrace the type of media that makes you feel comfortable.
You do not need to limit yourself to one platform, but whatever you choose, it is important to get in the habit of creating.
On Facebook, for example, it is not necessary to write a complete blog post because Facebook posts vary in length. As someone who was previously a blogger, I felt that my blog posts started off strong for the first 30% or so of the post. After that point, I would get bored and the quality decreased. This is why Facebook was perfect for me – if you get bored after 30% of a blog entry; it is okay because it can be a full Facebook post. Podcasting also fits me well because I can ramble and it is an easy way for me to share ideas.
When I create content, it makes me feel amazing and when I have not created anything recently I feel bad. With today’s technology, you can create and share anytime, whenever you feel like it. Right now, I am wearing my robe, drinking a coffee, have not showered, and yet, I am still able to share my insight with you.
As a creator, the best thing you can do is embrace the different types of media platforms available. Find out which platform fits you well and really own it. You will feel better about yourself because you are constantly creating and having fun while doing it.
