Do you ever find yourself feeling as if things just are not moving fast enough? If you feel as though your business should be at a higher level and you are frustrated at your lack of growth, try the following One-Year Technique. It is a simple, yet powerful tool that will help you gain a more realistic perspective of your business.
WHERE WAS I? The first step is easy. Take out a calendar from exactly 12 months ago — a digital calendar, a written appointment book, a journal, whatever method you use to track your time – and go back to precisely one year earlier. Read over the details and write down the things you notice about your appointments, your life, your activities, and so forth. Be sure to notice the good stuff, the accomplishments, and the things that moved your business in a positive direction. Try to remember how you were feeling at that time, who you were hanging around, what your struggles were.
By taking inventory of all your good decisions and the problems you overcame, it will become obvious that you have grown as a person and as a business. You will feel more confident in your decision-making skills, and will be able to see all of your accomplishments with more clarity.
