How to Live Your Top 10 – What Is MOST Important To You?
If you made a list of the ten things that are most important to you, would the way you spend your time reflect the value of those things? In this article, I will share the steps you can take to start living your perfect life.
Identify Your Priorities
What is really important to you? Is it scrolling down the timeline of Facebook? Is it checking your email and browsing the internet? Is it gossiping or lying on the couch or watching TV?
Or is it your spouse, children, family or friends? Is it your health, your physique? Your business? Your legacy? Your wealth? What’s really important for you?
Make a list of the top 10 people or things that are the most important to you. Then make another list of how you have spent your time over the last few months. How did you spend your last week? How did you spend yesterday? How are you going to spend today?
Look at your two lists and see how they compare. Be honest with yourself. Are these things in alignment? If not, then it is time for you to take control of the time you spend on the things that are most important to you.
Take Steps Toward Change
I work with a group here in Holland I call the Bar Raisers. This is a group of entrepreneurs that I coach. One thing I help them do is to define what is most important in their life. Then according to that list, step-by-step, we change their business, the way it is constructed and the way it is run.
What about you? What are the steps you need to take to eventually live your life in a way that is dedicated to the things that are most important to you? It will not happen overnight, but you have to define those steps and initiate them in order to change your life.
It is so important to work on your life instead of just living your life, because the days go by fast. Focus on how you want your life to be. Obviously business is a big part of it, so what do you want from your business? Does your business work for you or do you work in your business while the years fly?
Really be honest with yourself. I encourage you to sit down today and make a list of the top ten things that are most important to you; then make a list of the ten things you are spending the most time on. Determine if they a good fit; if not, start taking steps toward living your perfect life.
