Keeping Your Wisdom To Yourself

If you are an entrepreneur with a large amount of knowledge about your business, or your niche, but you have not put it out there in form of a book, a podcast, or a blog; you are not active on Facebook; you are not sharing your knowledge with the world; then you are losing. You are leaving behind many great opportunities.

These days, the knowledge you have is something you should share with the world. If you do that on a consistent basis, you will attract the right customers and draw the right people around you. But if you keep it to yourself and you do not share it with the world, then shame on you because you are not really building your legacy. You also are not using the resources available to you to grow your online appearance. If you have competitors that are doing these things, then they will definitely win.

The more you give, the more you will get.

I do not think you should give just for the purpose of getting, rather, you should give just because it is fun. Eventually it will come back to you – that’s a universal law, right? But whatever you do, find a way to share your knowledge.

I was in Phoenix at 25k and I was speaking with Dan Cashell, whom I met while visiting Necker Island. He also creates podcasts and we were discussing the purpose and goals we each had for our podcasts. I was amazed to find out that his purpose is to build a legacy for his children – which is the exact reason I record mine. It is something I really want to share and if will probably be out there for the rest of my life. It is also so it also sort of like a diary.

If you have a lot of knowledge, share it with the world. Find a platform that fits you well. It does not matter what format you choose, whether it is webinars, books, blogs, Facebook, or podcasts; whatever work best for you. Just find it and share your content.

…share your knowledge, share your ideas, and share your insights on a platform that fits you well.

The father of one of my team members is an entrepreneur and he has a very unique way of managing and building his businesses. He has built a pretty cool small empire. This team member is constantly telling his father, “You have to create a book because so many people do not know what you know, and the world should know this stuff.” Basically he is working on finding a ghost writer who will interview his father while they are on a trip so he can publish a book. How amazing is that? Imagine the positive changes that would happen for that man in his life, in his business, but also indirectly the people who will read his book?

I urge you and advise you to share your knowledge, share your ideas, and share your insights on a platform that fits you well. Do not keep it to yourself. It’s never been as easy as it is today to share your ideas. And doing it will change everything.
